Refugee Council of Australia
The peak body representing refugee rights and interests in Australia. The page is a useful portal to examining refugee issues in Australia, with a large links page to all of its organisational members. In addition, the site allows access to a substantial list of resources and information, including reports and submissions, publications, etc. The council also monitors current government policies and provides summaries of these on its web site.

The Siev X National Memorial Project
A simple site that details the campaign by people from all over Australia to erect a permanent memorial to remember the 353 ‘boat people’ who drowned after their boat sank in 2001. This site outlines the conditions and circumstances of the incident and relates them to the hard-line refugee policies of the Howard government. The memorial to be established is a collaborative effort by concerned organisations and individuals, with many photographs detailing the participants’ – often artistic – contribution.

Although limited in the services it provides for those outside California, the page itself provides a good number of useful links, resources and publications details for those interested in issues relating to refugees fleeing brutal dictatorships.
United Nations High Commissioner For Refugees – UNHCR
The homepage of the world’s premier refugee rights organisation. The site has an extensive list of resources including a statistics page, news, links, publications and research materials. An essential bookmark for any serious researcher on human rights and refugee issues.
