Conference for Religion in Modern Education: Conflict, Policy, and Practice

We were so pleased to sit on the ANU Religion Conference Committee and contribute to this year's conference, Religion in Modern Education: Conflict, Policy, and Practice.
We would like to thank the tireless work of the other members of the Conference Committee, our tremendous keynotes Prof. Candy Gunther Brown and Prof. Emeritus Suzanne Rutland, and all our presenters, attendees, and volunteers.
The conference included scholars presenting on the immediate and enduring impacts that the value, consideration, accessibility, and format of religious education may have on religious practices, on public spheres of activity, and on the relationship between religion and society. Panels covered a diverse range of topics, from sexuality and relationship education in the context of religious schools, to critical thinking instruction in Islamic schools, to the impacts AI might play in religious education, to studies of the International Day of Conscience, and many more. We were pleased with the diversity of the thought-provoking panels and papers and look forward to continuing the discussions in these and related areas in future.
