We have developed a workshop programme where people engage with their natural perceptual differences – hearing, smelling, touching; our interoception – as a collaborative resource. We explore how our own qualities that seem ordinary and mundane to ourselves might be valuable, even magical to someone else. It offers groups a plateau to address socio-emotional undercurrents in their interactions and practice relational mindfulness. Along with video recordings of the workshops, we research how individual differences in somatic perception emerge in the interplay of a complex variety of human expressions and responses. The goal is to devise learning pathways for groups to unfold their own sensible language of collaboration.
